Hi, all! This is Sonia. I started this blog to document my day-to-day life living with type 2 and to inspire those with the same disease. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a little over 20 years ago. The majority of those years, I was very unhealthy; I was overweight, depressed, did not exercise, ate food I shouldn’t be eating, and ate food I thought I should be eating which later turned out to be food I should have been avoiding. OOPS. Almost 3 years ago (Dec 16, 2014, to be exact), I embarked on a wellness journey and vastly improved my physical and mental health. Although I am not where I want to be yet, it is my hope and goal that through a combination of exercise, eating well and holding myself accountable through social media, I will one day be able to control my type 2 diabetes, medication free.
